Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Bleeding In A 63 Year Old

Fix appointment with Gynecologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
I could not find the photo that you attached.
The reasons for the blood stains at this age are
- thinning of the lining of uterus ( atrophic vaginitis
- vaginal infection
- polyp ( cervical or endometrial)
- thickening of lining of uterus( endometrial hyperplasia)
- In 10 % of women presenting with this symptom it could be due to cancer of uterus.
Therefore it is important that she has internal examination , ultrasound of uterus and ovaries, Pap smear and endometrial biopsy ( biopsy of lining of uterus) to find out the cause for the blood stains.
So please fix an appointment with the Gynecologist.
Remember that in 9 out of 10 women the cause is not serious. It is only in 1 in 10 women that the cause is serious. I pray that your mother belongs to the 9 out of 10 women group.
I hope this helps. If you have further concerns, do write to me.

Consult internal medicine specialist
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I am extremely sorry.
When you wrote blood stains, being a Gynecologist I thought it to be vaginal spotting and wrote that answer. Please ignore that answer.
Bleeding into hands and legs can be due to several reasons. common reasons are
- blood disease
- liver or kidney disease
- connective tissue disease
- rarely cancer.
You must consult internal medicine specialist for this. Based on the examination findings they will advise you regarding the investigations to be done.
I hope this helps.
