Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Bleeding While Treating Yeast Infection Around Vagina
I had a yeast infection & was applying boric acid vaginally to cure it. This was last week. About 3 days of treatment I began to have vaginal bleeding. It has continued. Last night I tried to have sex & it was too dry & now the bleeding is even more heavy. Please let me know if I should seek medical attention.
Stop boric acid and yes, seek medical help

Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..
Boric acid is not recommended for vaginal yeast infection.. Confirmed yeast infection should be treated with antifungals like clotrimazole and fluconazole.. Boric acid causes vaginal dryness and associated infection could have caused the bleeding..
Get a pelvic examination with your gynaecologist.. Get a pap smear done.. If everything is fine apply antifungal cream locally.. Once the infection has cured, you can have sex.. Apply lubricants like KY jelly in case of dryness..
Keep vaginal area dry to prevent repeated yeast infection.. Avoid excessive use of soap in the vagina..
Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
