Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Clot Discharge And Pain In The Hips

Question: My last period was just after my 54th birthday. I have not had ANY spotting since then...until this past Sunday. I had a tinge of pink when I wiped, and then today, had an actual clot of blood. What might cause that? I also have pain in my right hip area, but have done nothing strenuous to cause it.
I also am now approaching the age of 57.

Brief Answer:
Needs examination and investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The bleeding that you noticed can be due to vaginal dryness, taking pain killers too frequently or a cervical lesion or an endometrial polyp. This needs a direct examination by a gynecologist and a few investigations to find out the cause.
Here is exactly what needs to happen:
1. You need a visit with your OB/GYN and an exam
2. During this exam they need to perform an endometrial biopsy
3. You then need an ultrasound to look at the ovaries and the endometrial lining

If the biopsy is normal and the 'lining' of the uterus is 4mm or less, then there is absolutely no concern.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
