Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Dryness

default
Posted on Mon, 8 May 2017
Question: I'm 89 years old and suffering from vaginal dryness for which there seems no help. I even had a compounded medication to apply and find it more harmful then helpful. I have a number of allergies to medications. Have had many urinary infections. I find that the applications of medications irritate and worsen the condition. Is there a product not in the form of a paste or liquid that can offer relief?

Brief Answer:
Lubricants and moisturizes

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query at healthcare magic.

I have read your question carefully and understand your health issue .

Treatments of vaginal dryness are very few :
Moisturizers.
These products act directly on tissue to relieve dryness. Moisturizers may be preferred by women with irritation and burning not limited to sexual activity, and they can also help prevent vaginal infections.
Lubricants.
Water-based vaginal lubricants decrease discomfort during intercourse.
Vitamin E oil.
This nutrient protects membranes from damage.
Note: Only products specifically designed for vaginal lubrication should be used to treat vaginal dryness.

All these products can be taken without doctor's prescription.

You can try and with:
Diet and Supplements

Staying hydrated.
Water provides the vaginal lining with more moisture.
Phytoestrogens.
Increasing soy, legume, and flaxseed consumption can help with estrogen deficiency.
Omega-3 fatty acids.
Found in cold-water fish and flaxseed oil, this nutrient helps with vaginal lubrication.
Eating a balanced diet.
Low-fat diets can actually worsen vaginal dryness. Unsaturated fats are recommended over saturated ones.

Hope I have been helpful and please feel free for further discussion.

Best regards
