Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Frictional Injury Post Sexual Intercourse
Question: I am a woman who had a hysterectomy many years ago. After a period without sex, I have been prescribed an estrogen ring. After sex I have a very small amount of bleeding from the outer side of my left labia. On close examination can barely see two tiny spots. Bleeding is just enough to show up on toilet paper. Also area where it is coming from is sensitive. It started 4 days ago and although the amount of blood is very small it still hasn't stopped. I have been putting antibiotic ointment on it but doesn't seem to make any difference. No pain, just slightly tender where the bleeding is coming from. And the bleeding is very slight.
Brief Answer:
frictional injury.
Detailed Answer:
hello,
Thanks for the query ,
What you have been experiencing is a vaginal frictional injury post sexual intercourse . Oestrogen ring used recently would have helped reducing the vaginal dryness. as the bleeding is in form of tiny spots and in outer labia, it is frictional and can be treated over next few days with local application of petroleum jelly and antibiotic ointment is not required.
