Brief Answer:
Treatment of vaginal yeast infections

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

I am not sure if you are wanting to know about treatment of a vaginal yeast infection or oral candidiasis (thrush), but I will tell you about treating vaginal yeast and if this is not what you are looking for, please provide more history and information.

I'm also going to assume that you are not at risk for an STD (which can have similar symptoms to a yeast infection) and that you have had multiple or recurrent yeast infections - in both cases the treatment is different.

Symptoms of vaginal yeast infection are usually itching and sometimes soreness. Sometimes there is a thick whitish curdy discharge.

Monistat cream (miconazole) is an anti-yeast medication you can buy over the counter at the pharmacy.

You can also try Boric Acid 600 mg. suppositories (you can get these at pharmacy). Use 1 suppository in the vagina at bedtime for 7 days.

If neither of these work, then it is time to go in to see your doctor. The doctor can give you prescription strength anti yeast medicine or Diflucan (which is an oral medicine, but as it is oral rather than topical, has more risk of side effects).

I hope this information helps.
