Question: Hi
I am 29 year old married man. I have been diagnosed with left sided grade 1 or 2 varicocele. My left testis measure 45*22*29mm with arterial flow normal bilaterally. MY semen analysis is normal with sperm count 88 mil/ml. My urologist didn't advise for surgery right now. I am trying for a baby, should I take a break for some time. Should I be on medication such as Daflon 500? Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
No active treatment at present

Detailed Answer:
Hi
A Varicocoele is a fairly common finding, seen in almost 15% of normal population. With a semen count such as the one you have, it is unlikely that it is causing you trouble at present.
But you should understand that it can cause a progressive reduction in semen quality. So I suggest that you do not take a break from trying to conceive, and in fact would suggest that you continue your efforts actively for conception, including IUI if required.
Daflon utility is anecdotal. Several nutraceuticals like paternia or maxoza are available and might help improve sperm quality.
Hope I have been of help.
Best wishes.
