It appears from the history that you have shared that your mother has had an episode of vertigo while lying down on the bed and if she is unable to get up it is suggestive of a condition called as BPPV or Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. In BPPV, tiny particles within the inner ear dislodge from the semicircular canals to create irritation in the inner ear thereby causing vertigo.

If she has no headache, projective vomiting, difficulty in speaking, weakness or paralysis of her hands or legs then allow bed rest till she feels better and then take her to an ENT specialist. If she has any of the symptoms mentioned then take her to the emergency as soon as possible. She may in that case need a neurological assessment.

For BPPV your mother will need the Dix Hallpike test for confirmation and Epley's maneuver to cure her.

For now, you may try Tablet Stemetil MD 5 mg if she has another episode of vertigo (this tablet needs to be placed under the tongue). Please ensure that you give only one tablet in a day as this can have side effects like rigidity of the body and drooling of saliva (extra pyramidal symptoms).
You may also start her on beta histine tablets 8 mg three times a day. These are prescribed medication.

However please note, if you want the ENT to make a clear diagnosis then do not give medications otherwise the clinical tests will nit show results due to the effects of the medications. It is acceptable to visit the emergency department if the vertigo is disabling.
