Brief Answer:
brain ct scan recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.

Even though migraine is a benign condition, the treatment you are using is not effective. And the drugs you were prescribed are the recommended one in migraine.

Vertigo as well is not a usual associated symptom to migraine. Though reported it is not common.

In front of a reffractory situation to treatment and association to unusual symptoms, I recommend you to schedule a brain CT scan.

Basically, there is always an indication to CT scan when the headache becomes reffractory to treatment.

Nothing to worry so far. Still, if you were my patient I would recommend a CT scan to be sure that is just an unusual migraine. At that point one can reconsider the best migraine treatment.

Wish you the best health.

Brief Answer:
vertebro basilar migraine

Detailed Answer:
Hello. At this point, with a normal ct scan, i think you are having a vertebrobasilar type of migrane because it is associated with vertigo.

This types of migraines generally are refractory to triptans alone (the drugs you have used)

Still, triptans should be used to stop the headache but in association with NSAIDs. The best treatment is sumatripan with naproxen sodium, approved lately by tue FDA (2008)

Please keep me informed.
