Suggest Treatment For Vertigo Caused By A Viral Infection

Question: I have been diagnosed with vertigo caused by a viarl infection of my inner ear about 3 weeks ago. It was getting better but not it has gotten worse and I now have chest pain in my left chest that can be made worse through touch. Is it possible I now have pneumonia as well?

I understand your query and concern.

Any viral infection of the upper respiratory tract and ear has propensity to cause lower respiratory tract infection,in the form of viral bronchitis or pneumonia.

The above two modalities can definitely present as chest pain either left or right or both sided.

I strongly recommend you to get the following baseline investigations for accurate assessment.
1.EKG
2.Chest xray.
3.2D-Echo.

These set of investigations can have efficient impact of the course of the disease if done early,as they guide the treatment,
