Suggest Treatment For Warts On Elbow

Question: My partner has had these warts on his elbow for over 10 years. They dont respond to freezing or liquid from doctor. We have baby on way and dont want virus to spread to baby. What can he do?

You have mentioned that already - freezing and liquids have been used. If warts are recurrent and nonresponsive to treatment, then we need to rule out immunodeficiency.

The other but expensive options of treatment are laser therapy like Carbondioxide or NDYAG laser.

Others like electrodesiccation or curettage can be tried. But here scarring and recurrence is a thing to be borne in mind.

Hi...To answer your question I need to quote from literature. In a study published in 2009 - The clearance rate was 96%. They followed up these patients for a period of almost 2-10 months. During a median follow-up period of 2.24 months (range, 2-10 months), 11 relapses were seen (recurrence rate, 3.27%). In conclusion, long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser is safe and effective for the removal or reduction of warts and is less dependent on patient compliance than are other treatment options.

I suggest you discuss this with a cosmetologist or an adult dermatologist to get a clear picture and then go ahead with the management.
