Suggest Treatment For Watery Stools And Stress
Question: I have had about 8 watery stools per day for the past 7 weeks. No formed stools at all. I have always had normal BM's prior to this with no hx of bowel disease. I have been under a great deal of stress lately.
The watery stools are brown, no signs of blood, no foul odor...I just have to run to the bathroom several times a day. I went to the doctor after about 3 weeks of these sx, and was given a prescription for a week of Flagyl.
This did not help the watery stools at all. There is no mucous. No stools samples have been tested yet. My last colonoscopy was about seven years ago. I do not have any family hx of bowel disease. I wonder if my symptoms could all be from stress.

a probiotic can be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
Stress can cause gastritis and indigestion.
After reading your post, I would suggest that you should get your stool examined for any infection or parasitic infestation. In addition to Flagyl that you are already taking, you should take an antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily(if stool reprts suggest infection) and an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg. A probiotic should also be added for more benefits. You should eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions. Also take care of your hydration.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
