Suggest Treatment For Weakness In Legs And Arms With Tightness In Chest And Headaches
I have a 14 year old son experiencing weakness in legs and arms and tightness in chest and headaches. He is very fit swims competitively. He has an allergy to dust mites but has been having episodes where he feels like something is blocking his throat, which then leaves him in a panic state, once calmed down he has been left with the weakness in the legs and arms and still tightness in the chest. The last episode happened when swim training and he had numbness in his toes that spread down his right hand side.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that he is having chest tightness with throat block.
As per your clinical details, it appears to be allergic rhinitis (sneezes, running nose, wheeze and chest tightness with nutritional deficiencies (iron, folic acid, calcium) causing weakness.
Due to nasal blockage (allergic rhinitis), recurrent episodes of throat pain occurs, secondary to constant mouth breathing.
With this presentation, I would recommend you to continue same anti allergic medications, steroidal spray (flixonase) for 3-6months and evaluate for nutritional deficiencies with blood tests (iron, folic acid, calcium) from your treating doctor.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
