Please wait for a week more for the symptoms to subside by itself. I suggest you to continue hot saline gargles & steam inhalation with 'vicks vaporab' twice a day.
You can also suck cough lozenges several times a day, take warm water & plenty of fruit juices, it increases immunity.
This seems like a viral illness that is self-limiting. If it does not subside in a week or if you develop fever, you may get a blood test for hemogram done.
