Suggest Treatment For Wet Cough In A Diabetic

Question: Dear doctor,

i am suffering from wet cough for last 10 days.

i am a diabetic.

taking XXXXXXX cough syrup (sugar free) for last 1 week during night, but no relief.

pls suggest good medication and i travel 3 days every week.

I had gone through your question and I can understand your concern

wet cough of 10 duration warrants to be evaluated through clinical examination and a battery of tests like sputum for microscopy and culture and blood tests such as CBC ESR and an X ray chest

this could be due to any of following
allergic reaction
Lung infection
Tuberculosis (TB)

you may require a course of antibiotics once the diagnosis confirmed by examination and investigationso

meanwhile you can do
warm saline gargles
steam inhalation
syrup bromhexine after consulting your doctor
