
Suggest Treatment For White Patch On The Uvula

Question: I had a few cankers on my soft palate a couple months ago. They healed and ever since inhave this small white spot where they were that wont seem to go away.looks like a small whitehead on the dangly thing lol(dont know rhe name of it)

I am sorry to hear that you had a case of canker sores and that now you have white patch on the uvula in the back of your throat. This white patch is scarring or healing tissue and is normal. It may take more time to heal because the mouth and uvula are so moist. I recommend trying salt water gargles to help aid healing. The salt water will sooth the area and remove any food particles that may slow healing. Do not try any other mouth washes as they will kill the cells that are trying to repair the area.

Ok thank you. I also noticed my uvula is slightly crooked to the right. Is that a cause for concern. Not sure if its always been that way.
