Suggest Treatment For Whole Body Itching While On Protein Diet

Question: Hi doctor, I go the gym 6 times a week with 4 day cardio training and 2 days weight and strength training. My diet is great in terms of raw natural foods and at least 5 a day of my fruit and veg. I also have started having whey protein for breakfast and casein at bed time (for approx 5 weeks now) but have recently started to itch. Surely I'm not allergic as this would have started straight away? Please help.

Itching for about 1 week, started on soles of feet and then gradually started itching in other areas as the week progressed. No skin lesions or rashes... Just itchy. Started with the whey protein weeks ago with no problems, but only had caesin 2 weeks. Having approx 4 shakes per day, which is approx 85g protein.
Brief Answer:
Delayed allergy, IgE
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Though it has been nearly 5 weeks since you started taking whey protein, it is difficult to say whether the itching is due to it or some other cause.
This is because one can develop delayed food allergy.
You can stop the supplements and see whether there is any improvement. Also you can check immunoglobulin E levels to know whether you have an allergic reaction.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
