Hi,
Noted your history of
allergy, taking Ketasma and development of a parotid swelling which increases on chewing and eating.
This is a classical history of obstruction to the outflow of saliva through the duct of a
salivary gland is usually due to the following reasons>
The commonest cause being a stone, stricture, cancer or anything that blocks the outflow.
While chewing the increased salivation is pent up so the gland swells and cause the pain.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation.
Tests of blood.
CT scan of the affected area to know the cause.
Further management as per the cause found.
You may continue the medicines as would advised by your ENT Surgeon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General and ENT Surgeon
