Question: I was taking cymbalta for 8 or 9 weeks for depression. I stopped cold turkey because it wasn't working. Since then I have been experiencing head zaps several times a day for 5 weeks now. When will they stop?

You have stopped cymbalta after taking it for 8-9 weeks and started taking manerix.

Usually these brain zaps last for not more than 2-3 weeks in most cases. However, there are inter-individual variations.

Another important issues is that, a two-week break is important before starting MAO inhibitor after taking a SNRI.

Starting moclobemide immediately after stopping duloxetine poses the risk of serotonin syndrome. It can also manifest as restlessness, agitation and 'brain zaps' initially.

Otherwise, keep yourself well hydrated. Take multivitamin supplements. This will help you to handle those brain zaps. A short term use of Clonazepam (prescription drug) can also help.
