Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Effient

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome back again on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would agree with you that your complaints could be related to Effient withdrawal syndrome.
It is known that in some susceptible persons this drug interruption can lead to increased anxiety and indigestion. From the other hand the fact that all your complaints began after switching from Effient to low dose aspirin, is another possible argument in favor of this cause.
Anyway, before coming to this conclusion, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician and performing some tests to exclude other possible underlying causes that may mimic this clinical scenario:
- a resting ECG
- a Doppler ultrasound of the cervical arteries (dizziness could be a sign of low blood flow to the brain or narrowed cervical arteries)
- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid dysfunction
- liver and kidney function tests
- fasting glucose
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.
If all the above tests result OK, then you should consider Effient interruption as the main cause of your complains. In such case you can switch again to Effient. It is quite safe.
Hope to have been helpful!
I remain at your disposal whenever you have any other questions!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
