Suggest Treatment For Worm Infestation In The Bowels And Constipation

Question: I am elderly and very disabled housebound. I have carers who come and prepare my food which are mainly mad leaf salads with smoked mackerel.
I have a bad infestation of worms which have brought with them this very sticky mucus type stuff which they hide in. My doctor has done 4 treatments of high dose Ovex which has killed them but they are stuck somewhere in the bowel because of this sticky stuff causing gross constipation. I am having to take high doses of laxative to try to get some sort of movement, it's been 10 days now, I had a very small movement this morning , you couldn't see the poo for this sticky stuff and dead worms.
The poo comes out, if it does that is, covered in this awful stuff with the worms, I never had this awful stuff until the worms, what us it how do I get rid of it.
I am finding this all very distressing and embarrasing, I am also sick off tummy ache.
How can I get a decent movement to rid myself of all this?
Please help.
Thanks XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
I would suggest you to take albendazole 400 mg one dose and repeat after 2 weeks. Get stool routine microscopy and culture sensitivity done. Treatment can be modified based on the reports of microscopy. Follow up with reports. Till that drink plenty of water and fluids.ecommending more fiber or bulk in your diet. Lubiprostone (Amitiza) and linaclotide (Linzess) are prescription drugs for long-term use in chronic constipation in adults and the elderly.
