Suggest Treatment For Wound On Head Of Penis

Question: hi doctor,
i got a small little wound on my penis under d skin when we strech the skin the wound is open and still little moist as i was using medicated powder on my penis from past 2 day so that that would dont get infected but i dont see much of result and my skin on d head of penis and underneth got dried up started peeling off i guess that it is the dead skin which is coming out but how to heal that wound and is it normal if skin on d head n underneth is getting peeled off by itself...

Hello dear
I had gone through your question very diligently and I can understand your concern

I see such patients in my clinic routinely and I will definitely help you as well in best possible way

Looking at your history and photos this could be STI (sexually transmitted infection) or inflammation of penis due to rough sex

I would advise you for a battery of tests like blood for hemoglobin CBC liver and renal function test blood sugar urine culture and sensitivity test and swab culture from discharge

you may require a course of antibiotics under supervision of your doctor

To help you better I would like further information like
any recent exposure to unprotected sex?
since how long you are having this problem?

Meanwhile please follow these guidelines
wash it with antiseptic soap or solutions
apply antiseptic ointment like mupirocin
maintain good hygiene

recent exposure to unprotected sex was about 3 days back but never faced such issue ever before..i.e tuesday n after that i got itchy feeling and then next day i saw it was a wound...kindly prescribe me medicines which i need to use n which are easily available in the medical stores...Sir is there anything to worry about and please tell me in detail how i should use the ointment and if this dead skin is coming out during the wash is it a thing to worry....n sir how many days it can take to get back to normal i m kind of worried..

Before going for medicines i would advise you to confirm the diagnosis by investigation as advised in my previous reply.

This could be STI most likely viral infection like herpes. It may take a week or so to heal it adequately. Antibiotics are not available over the counter, for that you need a doctors prescription

You need not to worry about peeling of skin, wash it thoroughly and clean it properly. you should apply antibiotic ointment like soframycin or mupirocin to avoid superadded infection. Avoid sex or use condom.

actually somebody told me to use colgate paste on my penis to have cold sensation this i did n applied on my penis n let it be there for whole night this is just 1 day before have having sex i tried it n next day i got an inflamation n a scar on my penis and then i had sex after that inflamation increased i suppose that application of colgate toothpaste must have irritated my skin worsely can dat be the reason of this condition can application of colgate paste can lead to this situation...???

Colgate contains various chemicals which can incite an inflammation on penis
again it might got hurt during sex and next day application made it even worse

so it's always better to rule out infection by doing previously mentioned tests

strict aseptic precaution to be observed until it heals completely avoid sex.
