Suggest Treatment For Wound That Doesn't Heal Post Blepharoplasty

Question: I had bletharoplasty nov 6 and the dissolvable stitches started to fall out that night. Today is day 5 and the wounds are open. Did I have San allergic rx to the sutures? I am being flown to my surgeon right now
Brief Answer:
Not an allergic reaction; Use a topical antibacterial for a few days
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query and I have noted down your concern.
I don't think it is an allergic reaction to sutures.
I think the would would close in another 2 days because normally takes 7 days for a wound to completely re-epithelialize.
Wound infection is also a common cause of gaping of suture would and in that case I would suggest you to use a topical antibacterial ointment prophylactically e.g either Mupirocin or Neosporin ointment, at the suture line, twice daily.
Regards

That what I've been doing but the one eye started draining thick old blood
Brief Answer:
Continue with a topical antibiotic cream/ ointment
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
That is probably old accumulated altered blood/ hematoma that must have resulted from bleeding inside the wound.. Let it drain. I don't think there would be much. Clean the wound gently, twice daily (morning and evening) with a sterile cotton swab dipped in an antiseptic solution e.g betadine solution (povidone iodine) and then apply a topical antibiotic (as already suggested).
Regards
