Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
HI,

Welcome to HCM.

Post operative wound infection is common hospital infection and occurs when appropriate antibiotic cover is not given before, during and after surgery. Many bacteria which cause post operative wound infections are multidrug resistant. I suggest you get a culture sensitivity of the wound swab to identify the pathogen and its antibiotic sensitivity pattern. I also suggest you keep the area clean and the wound will heal within 2-3 days after starting appropriate antibiotics. Avoid adhesives if she is allergic to it. Normal sterile dressing will suffice. Please get a prescription for pain killer and serratiopeptidase to promote faster healing.
Thanks
