Suggest Treatment For Yeast Infection Under The Breasts And Mouth

Question: I seem to have a yeast like infection that is under my breast. I have taken rounds of Diflucun, the last round for seven days. I have also used Nystatin cream and Ketoconazole cream. It seems to ease up for a day or two but comes right back. I sometimes get it in my mouth and rarely down below. I use inhalers for my breathing and was wondering if maybe that is the cause. I can get rid of the one in my mouth and below with the pill, but the one under my breast is making me so miserable cause it won't completely go away and at times it has a bad smell like something dead. Can you please help me? No one else seems to be able to. I am seeing a Dermatologist next week and was wondering if that's the right step to take for getting help with this

Brief Answer:
Yeast infection skin and mouth

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your medical problems

You have been troubled by yeast infections in your mouth and under your breasts. You take a steroid inhaler which is causing the oral yeast and probably also causing the yeast infection under your breasts. The best treatment to reduce the mouth yeast is to rinse your mouth several times after using your inhaler. This washes off the steroids and reduce the yeast.

To reduce the yeast under your breasts you need to keep the area under there as dry as possible. Never go without a bra. You may need to find a good bra that help keeps your breasts from folding down and reducing the air flow under your breasts. I also recommend using nystatin powder daily to reduce the infection too. The best thing to prevent yeast is to keep the area dry. Yeast loves to grow in warm moist and dark areas so the best you can make the environment dry the better.

You may want to talk to your medical provider about stopping the steroid inhaler as it maybe perpetuating the yeast infection

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please contact us again
