Suggest Treatment Meniscal Tear In Knee
explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern.
Meniscal tears are very difficult to diagnose clinically and on x rays. They definitely require an MRI. Arthroscopic repair will again be indicated to save as much of the meniscus as possible.
Your doctor will suggest the treatment that he thinks will work best for you based on the zone of the tear , the pattern of the tear, and how big it is.
The outside one-third of the meniscus has rich blood supply. A tear in this zone may heal on its own. A longitudinal tear is an example.
Conversely, the inner two-thirds of the meniscus lacks a blood supply. Without nutrients from blood, tears in this zone cannot heal. Because the pieces cannot grow back together, tears in this zone are usually surgically trimmed away.
In the meantime , please take cap gabapentin 600 mg bd and tab diclofenac sodium 50 mg tds with esomeprazole cover for the pain, in consult with your doctor.
