Posted on Fri, 15 May 2015
Question: Hello,
Can you please let me know what are the most promising treatment strategies for a glioblastoma?

Thanks,
XXXX

Not sure if my question is clear. Her astrocytoma is now a glioblastoma and the doctor has implied life expectancy of about two years with chemo and radiation. Specifics about what treatment will be offered havn't yet been disclosed.

Brief Answer:
a very serious cancer

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
As you know glioblastoma is a very serious cancer with poor prognosis.

Standard treatments for glioblastoma include surgery if that is possible. Then after surgery the options are chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a combination of chemo and radiation given at the same time. Temozolomide is the most common chemotherapy used.
