Brief Answer:
You would recover over time.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms, past medical history and current medications.

It is unfortunate that you have suffered nerve damage due to an accident during teen age. However, you need not lose hope. You would gradually recover over time.

The current set of medications are fine. They would work on mental symptoms, restlessness, abnormal thought process and sleep. Over a period of time, they would also help in you recovering the lost sensations.

In addition to these, you should take vitamin B12, benfotiamine and alpha lipoic acid supplements. These help in regeneration and recovery of damaged nerves.

Physiotherapy and regular exercises would also help you.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Thankyou sir .I wanted to mention two things I should have mentioned before.firstly I have been taking my medications for six years ago.how much more time will it take to heal me entirely. Secondly. I dont feel I have nerve damage as some times very rare my sensation falls down .which means my nerves are all fine in their place only they have lost sensation .should I still take the additional supplements.

Brief Answer:
Improvement takes time.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back and providing more information.

Improvement occurs over years and may take a few more years.

By nerve damage, I meant partial functional damage, and not complete structural damage. So, your symptoms can be explained by partial functional damage of nerves. There is a good chance of recovery in your case.

You should take the additional supplements.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
