Brief Answer:
Suggestions on food habits

Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I understand your concern usually normal kids of this age itself, it is very difficult to feed. I can understand your issue with the special needs of your kid.

There are no special techniques to feed the kid the appropriate food. It is only patience which is going to pay in this regard.

I take this opportunity to tell you certain scientific facts and relieve your distress -

1. An active is a well kid even if he is not eating well. But the issue with your kid is that he's eating but he has special likes and dislikes called food fads. Best thing is to avoid him seeing those foods and gradually wean him off from those. Please do not worry that you have to feed him something in a timely fashion. This does not apply for a kid or more than 3 years as he is not a newborn baby. He will be adamant initially, but, later on the hunger and the sight of food which is proper, will gradually make him develop liking towards normal diet which you give him.

2. Development of a kid is as important as or I would say even more important than growth alone.

3. As the kids grow their interest in food decreases and interest in play activities increases so that they eat small quantity and run away to play. As parents we need to be more patient and feed than less quantity but more aliquots per day.

4. This age rather than the quantity of the food I suggest you concentrate more on the number of times you feed her and also make whatever you feed her calorie dense by adding good amount of ghee to it.

5. I suggest you not to use appetite stimulants on long run as they may cause drowsiness.
