Suggest Ways To Deal With Excessive Sleep During The Day Time

Question: I am having difficulty concentrating and and staying awake during the day, I thought it was because of poor sleep, direct and exercise. I have had a sleep study done and have sleep apenea, got and appliance and have been using this for a year. I have also been exercising and eating healthy but still seem to be dragging my self around, lacking focus and energy. From what I have read I think adderall may help me.
I would like to try it and see if it improves my condition. I don't want to go thru a battery of blood tests, I already have a chronically ill partner who I have to look after and one sick person is enough in my life. Just need to see if I this will help, I struggle to stay awake at work during the day, Im hioping this will help.

Brief Answer:
Treatment for sleep apnea is a CPAP machine, otherwise no improvement.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. Please note that the sleep apnea has to be treated with diet and exercise and ultimately CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). Short of this machine will be continued sleepiness and drowsiness during the day. This is a classic scenario you report. Please have fitted for the machine to see improvement. Diet and exercise is also important to continue with symptoms improvement. Good luck and I hope that this helps.

I have a Cpap machine as stated in my notes
Brief Answer:
I mean refitted, I suspect that you may have a leak and low pressure
Detailed Answer:
Sorry I was not clear, I mean that you need another study/refitting session as you may not be getting the correct pressure anymore and or fitment thus leading to poor sleep hygiene. Sorry for the ill explanation. The CPAP machines get adjusted as many times as it takes to become efficacious.

It's Narcolepsy, my CPAP machine is regularly serviced mask replaced etc.
Brief Answer:
Narcolepsy is associated with sudden loss of muscle tone and passing out...
Detailed Answer:
This is not the impression and the symptoms you presented in your question. Narcolepsy involves the sudden loss of muscle tone without warning, your symptoms have fatigue and daytime drowsiness, fatigue which is consistent with obstructive sleep apnea.
still affirm that the symptoms you are having are directly related to your sleep apnea.
