Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
1. Travelling can cause nasal congestion at this age.
Infants below one year breathe only through nose and any mild block due to congestion can make them struggle for breath.
I usually prescribe nasal saline drops one drop each nose three times a day for such patients in my clinic.
2. Teething does cause pain and can be relieved with giving teethers.
If pain doesn't subside I would suggest paracetamol to my patients.
1ml drops would be the dose recommended at this age.
Give with a minimum gap of six hours only if pain is severe.
Teething pain will settle down soon.
If symptoms worsen you need to consult your doctor.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
