Suggest Ways To Remove Penile Melanosis
Question: I am a 24 year old male and I am uncircumsized. I've never had a problem with my penis although there has been a black spot on the head of my penis under the foreskin for years. I remember seeing it when I was 12 years. To explain in detail it is like a someone got a black board marker n poked a dot on it. The same spot is there on the underside of the foreskin where the spot is on the head. The size has been the same throughout the years and has not changed. I have been constantly washing it for the last 10 years and it is not coming off. I want to get rid of it. Is there any ointment that I can apply to get rid of it.
Brief Answer:
Penile melanosis

Hi XXXX
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and seen the attached photograph. You are having penile melanosis which is benign pigmentation of the penis seen in many normal individuals. It is not possible to remove it by applying any ointment. Laser treatment might help you.

Thanks for the prompt response. Before closing the topic I would like to know a couple of things?
Do I need to worry about it affecting my health/ body in any way, or should I just ignore it?
Is it hereditary or genetic?

Detailed Answer:
Normally they are totally benign without having any effect on your health but if you notice sudden increase in size or any change in shape or colour then consider going for a biopsy of the area. Otherwise you can ignore them and these are neither genetic nor hereditary.
