Suggest Ways To Treat An HPV Infection

Question: Hello,
My mother recently had a pap smear a few weeks ago. She received her test results yesterday. While the test for cervical cancer turned out to be negative, the test for HPV came out as positive. She is 55 years old and I'm wondering should I be worried at all? How can I help my mother treat her HPV?

Brief Answer:
Yearly follow up
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
HPV infection cannot be treated by medicines.
Patients with cervical HPV infection and negative pap smear should be followed up with yearly pap smear and HPV testing.
This is done to detect any premalignant or malignant lesion of the cervix at the earliest as HPV can cause these lesions in the cervix.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
