Suggest Ways To Wean Off Adderall

Question: Hi I just found out my son had been taking 100 mg of adderall for over 6 months now is the damage he's done to himself permanent? What kind of damage could he have done? Should I send him to the ER? That's 100 mg every day. if he stops will he heal? is brain damage likely and or permanent?
Brief Answer:
No need to panic but need to see doctor
Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome.
first, since this is taken for 6 months already them there is no need to go to ER since there are no tests available and no specialists that can recommend further steps. you need to see psychiatrist first who will recommend what kind of withdrawal is suitable. it may be dangerous to stop while dosage suddenly so gradual withdrawal may be required. second, possible damage are mainly referred to kidneys, heart and brain function but luckily, permanent damage is rare and if he doesn't have any symptoms now then you don't need to be concerned. wish you good health. Regards
