Brief Answer:
Gradual dose reduction is advised to prevent withdrawal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Adderall is an amphetamine drug. The drug causes tolerance and an abuse producing drug. Best way to get off from Adderall is by reducing the doses gradually over 8-10 weeks. Dose reduction in this manner doesn't cause much withdrawal symptoms. Try to reduce the doses by 20-25% every 2 weeks and then stop completely at about 8 weeks. You can reduce the doses to 75 mg for next two weeks and then reduce the doses to about 50 mg for next two weeks. Keep reducing the doses further to 30-37.5 for next two weeks then to 30 followed by 20 and then to 10 and 5. You have to go very gradually and you can come out of addiction. Adderall is available in different strengths so its easy to make proper dose calculations.

Thanks, Discuss with your doctor before making any changes in prescription.

Take care
