Suggest Ways To Wean Off Clononzapam
Question: I have been taking Clononzapam .025mg 1 x a day every 3 days for approx. 2 months. Will I have withdrawal effects when stopping this medication? How do I taper off of it? My doctor just started me on Celexa 10mg.
Brief Answer:
Unlikely to experience any major withdrawal effect
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
Since you are taking only a 0.25 dose, once in 3 days, it is unlikely that you would experience any significant withdrawal symptoms. Yet, it would be better to it reduce it gradually and then stop. So, I would suggest that you take it once a week for the next 4 weeks and then stop it. This way, you will ensure that you don't have any rebound anxiety and that you feel more confident in letting go of the Clonazepam.
Wish you all the best.
