Suggest Ways To Wean Off Klonopin

Question: Hello, I was taking 15 mg of abilify in the morning and 1 mg of klonopin three times a day. My doctor reduced that to 10 mg of abilify and 1 mg of klonopin twice a day. Is this the proper way to reduce klonopin because I thought you were supposed to go from 3 mg to 1.5 mg? Will I have any withdrawal effects by this reduction in klonopin? He also prescribed me lexapro for depression, and I read in an article that abilify and celexa, which is very similar to lexapro can cause death with klonopin being one of the top co-drugs. Here is the article where it says that: http://www.ehealthme.com/sdi/celexa/abilify/death/
If you scroll down to the bottom, it says that 3 out of the 16 people who had death with celexa and abilify were taking klonopin. So given that celexa is very similar to lexapro, this is the exact combination that I would be taking: lexapro, abilify, and klonopin. Do you think this combination will cause death? Also, I had some shakiness on Thursday night, and it says in an article that abilify and klonopin can cause convulsions when taken 6-12 months and I have taken klonopin for 5 months and abilify for 3 months. This is why my doctor reduced the abilify and klonopin. Here is the article where it says abilify and klonopin can cause convulsions: http://www.ehealthme.com/drug-interaction/klonopin/abilify/
If you scroll down to where it says 6-12 months, it has convulsions listed. Do you think the shakiness was because I may have a convulsion, or do you think I will have a convulsion with abilify and klonopin if I keep taking it? Please respond as soon as possible.

Brief Answer:
No risk of seizures.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion, your doctor is following the correct regime to reduce klonopin. Regarding withdrawal symptoms, you may or may not experience them. Every individual responds differently to every drug. But largely, there should not be troublesome withdrawal signs.

Celexa or lexapro, abilify and klonopin don't commonly cause seizures or death whether in combination or alone if taken in prescribed dose. It may be one of the rarest side effects of these drugs. The article which you have cited is not the authentic reference. You can search for better reference on PUBMED.

The shakiness could be due to anxiety or dose reduction of klonopin. The body needs some time to adjust to dose reduction.

Hope this answers your queries.
