Question : yes. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax 3 times a day for 7 years. I want to get off of it. Would it be alright if I ask my doctor to switch to Kolonpin, in order to get off benzos as soon as possible

Hello,

switching to a long-acting benzodiazepine is the initial step towards withdrawing from benzodiazepines. Clonazepam (Klonopin) is one of the longer acting ones. Diazepam and Prazepam are other appropriate choices. Regarding clonazepam the dosage equivalence is 1:1 that is for 3mg of alprazolam, you'll need 3mg of clonazepam.
