The best over-the-counter medication for headache is
Paracetamol- to be taken in the maximum dose of 15 mg per kilogram of your weight as a single dose. This can be repeated 3 to 4 times a Day.

For example : if the weight of the patient is say- 50 kg- he/she can take 50X15 = 750 mg ( as a maximum dose at one go) One can take 500 mg to start with and see the effect on the headache. You can repeat this dose for 3 to 4 times a day.
