Swallowed An Almond Sliver. Will My Stomach Digest This?

Question: I didn't chew enough and swallowed an almond sliver (size of an almond, but with sharp edges). It got stuck barely into my throat, but could only continue going down at that point. I chased it down with another mouthful of food. Will my stomach digest this? The lining of my throat is clearly irritated. I am worried what will happen if my stomach doesn't digest this enough for it to pass through the rest of the system. It is sharp.

You need not worry.

Stomach would digest the almond sliver.
It will get digested in the stomach and upper small intestine.
So it will not go down the rest of the system and will not cause any injury.

For the throat irritation, you can take tylenol.
