My mother is 49 years old. She complained about numbness of tongue & both her legs which lasted for few minutes. After few hours, she mentioned that she has developed tingling feel & slight numbness in the tongue. She has hypertension/high BP. She is taking Telma am and static 10 tab everyday. Welcome to Health Care Magic
The complaints are not clear enough to come to a diagnosis directly. Tongue and leg are too far apart to have a common or local pathology. And so, a central cause, like reduced blood flow to some parts of the brain is probable. As it disappeared after a few minutes, a temporary phenomenon is likely. That points to TIA – Transient Ischemic Attacks = sudden and transient reduction of blood supply to certain areas of the brain.
This is common with age, Blood pressure, Diabetes, High cholesterol and so on.
She needs to be examined by a NEUROLOGIST. MRI of the brain and MRA of the blood vessels of neck and brain are often necessary to diagnose.
Subsequently, HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up (electrolytes, renal function) – will all be necessary for further assessment and assistance
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Thank you. We are planning to get a Master health check up done for her. Is there anything in particular that is not usually covered in the master health check up that you would advise for her?
Thanks,

'Master check up' has different test in different institutions.
Don't go for it directly, by yourself.
See your Internist (Specialist in General Medicine) - he will suggest depending on his examination / assessment.
Whatever it may be, more tests are often requested on the basis of the initial tests - just for cost containment, some less common or unusual causes are not asked first. .
Regards.
