Urine Test Shows Blood In Urine. Reason And Cure?
Thanks for the query.
Did you have any medical problems prior to this?
Did you have any associated symptoms like burning sensation or pain?
If the sample was given when your periods were going on then the test has to be repeated as contamination of urine with menstrual blood can often give a falsely positive blood test.
If this was not the case then the source of blood can be anywhere in the kidneys, ureter, bladder or urethra. The cause can be infection, stones, diseases of the kidney like IgA Nephropathy or tumors. We need to do more tests to determine the cause and then treat it appropriately.
If the urine report shows proteins or casts then the source might be the kidneys.
An ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder will show if there is any structural problem like a stone.
A urine culture should be done to rule out infection.
You should see a nephrologist with the above reports who can interpret the results and prescribe appropriate treatment or do further tests.
Hope this was helpful.
Good luck.
