Hi dear,
Simvastatin is a very commonly used hypolipidemic agent without much serious side effects.
The commonly noted side effects include abdominal cramps,dyspeptic symptoms,heartburn,altered bowel habits,nausea etc.
Sometimes it can also cause rashes,pruritus,myalgia,arthralgia etc.
Dizziness,headache and sleep disturbances are uncommon effects.
Rarely,in some individuals,it can cause allergic reactions demanding stoppage of the drug.
Anyhow,most of the patients continues the drug well without any difficulty.If you feel any discomfort,kindly discuss with your doctor.
Also note that,regular moderate exercise,a diet rich in green leafy veges,fruits&fibers boosts up the action of statins.Also,avoid fat of animal origin as far as possible.
