What Are Side Effects Of Taking Alcohol With Fetzima, Xanax And Vivance?
Also stabbed myself in attempted suicide
What's the typical effect of alchol when taking Fetzima, Xanax and Vivance?
cause confusion, aggression, disturbed judgement
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think that by vivance you mean vyanase (dexamfitamine).
The 2 points in your query are the combination of the drugs which you are already taking and their interaction with alcohol.
1. Usually, it is recommended that fetzima should be best avoided with vyanase. The combination is not recommended in usual circumstances and it can lead to increase in the levels of vyvanse. Fetzima is an SNRI and with vyanase it may lead to side effects - nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, and racing thoughts. Combining them can also increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome - characterised by : confusion, distorted memory, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, shivering or shaking, incoordination, nausea, vomiting, etc. Severe cases may result in coma and even death. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms while taking the medications.
2. It is customary that you mention your drinking status to the doctor who is prescribing you fetzima. Fetzima taken along with alcohol can lead to inappropriate behaviour changes, including aggression, trouble remembering events, racing thoughts, even turning to confusion and come (depending on blood levels of both & other bodily factors). Yes, it is also the duty of treating team to ask and inform the patient about these things before hand. The most important thing is that one should not try to drive while taking these meds along with alcohol. The judgment is distorted and person take erronous decisions.
3. There is usually no major issue with Xanax in low dose. But in high doses (which may vary from person to person) when taken along with alcohol can cause central nervous system depression and even lead to respiratory failure and may turn fatal. OR, one might just go to sleep or become calm.
So, for now get your blood pressure and pulse measured, visit a doctor if you are still having any of the above mentioned symptoms and be in medical care till you and your family feels you are stable enough.
Fix an appointment with your treating team and discuss if you can take alcohol with these drugs and how much amount can you take safely ( although you have had a serious interaction and you should not take it anymore).
Hope the reply is useful for you, please feel free to ask more questions for further clarification.
Wish you speedy recovery
