This overdose may not kill you but rather worsen your health status.

I am asking because this dosage was prescribed for someone I know in hospital, and she refused to take the meds because she recognized potassium chloride as a part of the lethal injection used in executions and she was afraid. I knew that it can be a prescribed medicine, but normally comes with a lot of information about diet and other meds. (The dose was Klor-Con M20 x 2, every hour for three hours.)
Obviously, someone is confused, but I don't know who. My friend is no longer in that hospital. She was given no information about why she might need it.
Am comforted!

Thanks for this follow up precsion.
I a happy to know no one is on such a mega dose. If potassium needs to be corrected within 3hours, it would be done using an infusion and strictly monitored in the hospital and not otherwise.
I don't know why such a dose was recommended. I will suggest that she confront her doctor on this to understand more about this prescription. From a medical personnel, I will always give them the chance to justify their actions before judging and condemning.
I wish your friend well. I wish you well and feel free to follow up if need be.
