Brief Answer:
Folate in the therapeutic range of up to 5 mg a day will lower homocystein
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,
Folate in the therapeutic range of up to 5 mg a day will lower homocysteine which increases stickiness of blood. But it will not interfere with the blood thinning action of other drugs.
You can do your serum homocysteine levels to assess whether you really need folates.
And you can also access your folates from natural sources---
Foods rich in folic acid are – tomatoes, green beans, spinach, lady’s finger, lentils, black-eyed peas. When you obtain nutrients from vegetable sources, the body normally throws out excess because of the fiber content.
