Is there a "cure"? Medication? Grand-mothers remedy? Please before I go bald!!
Brief Answer:
Please see detailed answer
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Sorry for wrongly typing your name.
The treatment of hair loss depends on the cause. Common investigations we do in case of hair loss are:
1. Thyroid function tests, testosterone
2. Haemoglobin
3. Calcium
4. Vitamin D and B12
If there is any abnormalities we treat it appropriately: like thyroxine for hypothyroidism, anti androgen medications, calcium, vitamin supplements.
If all investigations are normal, we try with anti dandruff shampoo, hair oil massage and protein treatments. Topical minoxidil liquid 2% is also useful when applied on scalp twice daily for 3 months.
If all measures fail, specialised hair centres are offering hair transplants.
These are the treatments available for hair loss. Wishing you good health.
