What Are The Chances Of HIV After Unprotected Intercourse?

Last night I slept with a sex worker from a bar in Bali while drunk and did not use a condom.
I am wondering if I am to start a course of antibiotics immediately will it reduce the likelihood of contracting any STI's from her. Obviously I have no idea if she has any or not.
Also, what is the likelihood of contracting HIV from a woman?
I am 39 years old, very fit and no other health issues...
Pls see doctor, start HIV post exposure prophylaxis
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
You may not start taking antibiotics until you have any symptoms of infection. Please dont try self medication. Having unprotected commercial sex is like playing with fire. Just hope that you do not contract any STI or HIV.
Statistics show that the risk of getting HIV from a receptive penile vaginal intercourse is about 4 in 10000 sexual acts. However because you had it with a sex worker and it was unprotected, the chances are more for you.
Please consult a health center near you and opt for post exposure prophylaxis for HIV. This will reduce any chances of you manifesting HIV infection even if she was infected.
Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Is the amount I mentioned above the typical amount administered for these types of STI's?
Kind Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
You have taken the possible treatment of gonorrhea. Chlamydia treatment is inadequate. Bacterial infection is always treatable in a few days, if the symptoms appear.
Ciprofloxacin 1000 mg for gonorrhea is fine.
Azithromycin 500 mg for chlamydia is inadequate. It should be taken 1000 mg as one dose or 500 mg on day 1 and 250 mg for next 4 days.
There are viral infections like HIV, herpes and human papilloma virus infection which can get bothersome. This should never be overlooked.
My biggest concern for you right now is to start HIV post exposure prophylaxis so that the chances of getting infected under the circumstances is greatly reduced.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
