What Are The Chances Of HIV Infection After Sexual Contact?
Question: Sir I had visited a massage parlour in dubai three days back I visited a massage parlour ,there the massage girl took my penis in her mouth for 5 minutes later on she removed her dresses and vigorously rubbed her vagina on my penis for almost 10 minutes ,there was lots of vaginal fluids from her ,but there was no actual penetration,and there was no cuts or wounds on my penis as to my knowledge,i ejaculated and i cleaned myself and had a bath 30 minutes later with hot water and soap,am I exposed to HIV,if so can I have to start any treatment consulting a doctor for PrEP or PEP treatment,I just wanted to know if the risk is very less or no risk at all this happened exactly on 7th of November 2014 at 6.30 pm I am still with in that 72 hours period,I am placed in XXXXXXX ,will you please help me out with the investigations and consultancy if at all you are placed in XXXXXXX Thank you .please let me know at the earliest. thank you.

Hi there.
I understand your concerns & the fact that you are within the 72hr period.
However, all contacts with HIV individuals or not need not be translated into an infection.
You have an added advantage in that the testing protocol in the UAE is usually very stringent (I have lived in that part of the world for close to 35 years). Hence all workers are tested & unlikely to be positive especially as the visa renewal policies are stringent.
Please do a PCR test for viral particles & /or a western blot. I usually recommend this be done at Central Laboratories @ XXXXXXX circle 3rd floor & the reports reach me by email so we can save on time. Please ask the lab to call me when you get there.
I personally do not feel the need for PEP but it is an elective choice.
I am presently consulting with patients at XXXXXXX Hospital, off XXXXXXX road & will be doing so till 1600hrs. You may come see me here right now or go across to central lab & do the tests required & ask them to get in touch with me when you arrive there & can take it from there.
