What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through Non Penetrative Sex?
Question: Hello, Actually my question is regarding touching of vagina fluid on my penis tip. 2 days before i had this accident with a sex worker. I touched her Vagina with my finger for 3 seconds and felt fluid there, and soon after accidentally my penis got touched with her vagina lips for 3-4 SECONDS (NO RUBBING, ONLY TOUCH) and some fluid was there on vagina lips, and the vagina fluid touched with my penis tip. Is it a risk of HIV. Please note no intercourse was performed, means my penis never went inside her vagina or anal. Your advice in this matter is highly required.
Brief Answer:
Hiv is not a risk
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have gone through the details of your query and I have understood it.
HIV is not a risk with such a short lasting sexual contact and more so because it was non-penetrative in nature and did'nt involve any genital rubbing.
Only genital rubbing Or sexual intercourse is a risk for transmission of Hiv because normally there would be wear and tear during penetrative sex.
Hiv virus usually enters through these microscopic tears in genital mucosa that are sustained during the act of intercourse, not otherwise.
Regards

Thank you for the professional advice. Would really appreciate if you can explain Genital Rubbing, means is it rubbing hard so in result wear and tear can happen on penis. Also you are requested to put some light on VAGINAL FLUID (HIV) outside of human body, which is considered to be dead, and which may be related to my case too. Once again thank you.
Brief Answer:
You are safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
By rubbing I mean there should be some friction during the act.
Friction during genital rubbing and sexual intercourse would create microscopic tears and Hiv can pass through them.
However, such a short lasting sexual contact (lasting 3-4 seconds only) and with no rubbing Or penetration is unlikely to induce any wear and tear at all.
Hiv virus does not survive outside the body for more than a few seconds.
The virus needs to find a way into your blood stream i.e through microscopic tears sustained during genital rubbing or intercourse.
Merely touching her vagina would not be sufficient friction to induce such microscopic tears.

Thanks again, but is there a possibility that fluid can pass through the penis tip hole, or like you have said in your last message that virus cannot survive outside of body so possibility of passing through penis tip hole does not exist or does not matter.
Brief Answer:
Hiv is usually acquired through microscopic tears in genital surfaces
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Hiv is usually acquired through minor/ microscopic breaks/ tears on genital surfaces and not through urethral mucosa unless the urethral mucosa is inflammed/ damaged... inflammation makes it easier for HIV to pass through and enter into blood stream.

HI,
Please tell what is Urethral Mucosa, is it the PENIS TIP HOLE (PENIS OPENING) for which I talked about in my last message i am sorry for not understanding the medical terms.
Hello,
what i wanted to know in a bit detail that is there a possibility that HIV can pass through my PENIS TIP HOLE (PENIS OPENING) in such a contact of penis with vagina lips (having Vagina Fluid) like in my case where there is no rubbing and only touch was there.
And like you said that HIV does not survive outside the body so HIV touching PENIS TIP and than passing through PENIS TIP HOLE (PENIS OPENING), does not matter OR Does not exist because of HIV not surviving outside the Body.
Please answer according to my case i explained you in previous message.
Please answer in general terms which i can understand easily

Brief Answer:
You are safe and therefore nothing to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I will try to simplify it for you.
Urethral mucosa is the lining wall of urethra inside the pee hole/ orifice.
The virus can stay live outside body not for more than a few seconds. It dies quickly upon drying/ exposure to air.
In addition, the possibility of HIV entering through pee hole 'does not matter' even if the virus is alive outside body, for some time.
This is because, virus CANNOT even pass into blood stream through the wall of pee hole i.e urethral mucosa unless there is some inflammation/ damage to urethral mucosa.
Basically I want to assure you that you are safe from this particular act and there is nothing to worry.
Please get back to me me if you need any more clarifications. I will be glad to help clear any more doubts.
